In addition to earning a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas -- San Antonio, Scott holds one of the financial service’s top credentials – CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™, which he believes greatly improves his ability to serve his client’s financial needs. CFP® practitioners have taken the extra step to demonstrate their professionalism by voluntarily submitting to the rigorous CFP® certification process that includes testing, ethical standards and continuing education.
As a CFP®, Scott works extensively in assisting high net worth individuals, such as corporate executives, professionals, and retirees, manage their wealth while working to properly allocating their portfolios. Following the longstanding philosophies of LPL Financial, Scott works to ensure that the client’s interests come first and foremost. He has created a business model that focuses around the cornerstones of a client’s financial needs: estate attorney, CPA, and financial planner. These three separate professionals plot the course based on a client’s goals and needs.
Scott used to work for a large wirehouse brokerage firm, but moved over to the “independent” side of the investment industry because he saw the need for a more balanced and conflict-free approach when dealing with his clients. Being independent means he is free from any sales quotas or proprietary products and can be unbiased when it comes to all facets of investment management and financial planning. Thus, he always puts his clients interest and their goals above all else.
Scott is an avid fly-fisherman and licensed FAA pilot. He and his wife Marti have three children (Ashly, Kylee, and Colton). Colt was born at 22 weeks gestation (weighed 1lb 2oz) and has the distinction of being one of the youngest babies to survive at such a premature date in the country, he is now 7 years old and doing very well. Scott’s outside activities also include being active at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church in Helotes, coaching baseball, playing golf, reading, and snow-skiing.
